Two Days of Adventure, One Unforgettable Escape
Join us for The Lehigh River Escape. An unforgettable river adventure featuring 22 miles of rafting and inflatable kayaking on the scenic Lehigh River, complete with an overnight stay at the Historic Inn at Jim Thorpe.
Your 2-Day Lehigh River Escape begins at our rafting headquarters in Jim Thorpe, where you’ll park your car and hand over your luggage. We’ll get you fully outfitted for the river before launching into a thrilling 14-mile Dam Release rafting trip through Lehigh Gorge State Park. Along the way, you’ll experience exciting Class III whitewater, breathtaking scenery, and 19 sets of rapids. Midday, we’ll stop along the riverbank to enjoy a boxed lunch and recharge for the remainder of the trip.
Day One
Day one concludes in the charming town of Jim Thorpe. A short walk from the river brings you directly to your hotel, where your luggage will be waiting. Spend the evening exploring downtown Jim Thorpe on your own or with your new rafting friends before settling in for a well-earned night’s rest.
Day Two
On day two, enjoy breakfast at the Inn at Jim Thorpe before meeting your guide for another day on the water. This time, you’ll take on the Family Style section of the Lehigh River in inflatable kayaks. After being outfitted with all the necessary gear, you’ll paddle eight miles of Class II whitewater—milder than the dam release section and perfect for trying inflatable kayaking. Over three to four hours, you’ll navigate gentle rapids, take in the surrounding scenery, and learn new skills alongside friends and family.
BBQ & Bonfire
Midway through the trip, we’ll stop riverside for a hot dog BBQ lunch to refuel before finishing the day. At the end of day two, we’ll shuttle you back to our rafting center, where your luggage, a roaring bonfire, and the Broken Paddle Bar & Grille will be waiting to celebrate the perfect end to your adventure.

Yes. The maximum group size is 16 people.
Where do we check in for the trip?
Check-in takes place at Pocono Whitewater in Jim Thorpe, PA.
What kind of footwear do I need?
Wear shoes that will not fall off, such as old sneakers or water shoes. Bare feet, flip-flops, slides, and slippers are not permitted.
Will photos be available from my rafting adventure?
Yes. We take photos on the river and you can purchase them in our store or online at PoconoWhitewaterPhotos.com.
